ESTABLISH A BUDGET FOR THE ENTIRE PROJECT |
Have a budget figure in mind. Try to make this budget a realistic one. Beginning with a budget that is too high for your needs can be as damaging as one that is too low, since one leads to overdoing the kitchen, while the other leads to doing less than a complete and satisfying job. Lastly, because of the almost unlimited accessory options available, it is imperative that you communicate this budget to your designer or cabinetmaker, so that he or she can be as helpful as possible by eliminating wasteful consideration of items that don't fit that budget.
MAKE BASIC DESIGN DECISIONS FIRST |
When it comes to up-scale kitchen design, cabinet style and appliance type decisions always come first. The distinction between appliance type and appliance brand is an important one. It is important that before the cabinets start to be designed we have specific models chosen so that we can best build them into the cabinetry.
Here are a few appliance decisions to think about: Obviously some of your appliance sizes are going to be influenced by room size and space considerations.
Your appliances are what we are going to build your cabinetry around. Once these important general appliance decisions have been made, it is then time to start looking at cabinet options. Here are a few cabinet decisions to think about:
Once you have made some basic desicions we can get down to refining and customizing your project to meet your exact needs. Read on below to get a better understanding of what we have to offer and what makes our cabinetry unique.
Frameless Construction is by far the most popular case construction method today. The most distinctive difference between our counstruction and many of the other brands is our dado construction. Most manufacturers are using butt joints and mechanical fasteners. We feel that dado construction is still the very best way to join to cabinet components that are meant to last. Our cabinet boxes are all made using American made plywood. There is no particleboard in our cabinetry. Frameless cabinetry will generally give you 20-30 percent more useable space than traditional face frame construction.
My favorite drawer boxes are built with 1/2" nine-ply Baltic birch furniture plywood or the solid hardwood of your choice all with dovetail joinery construction and finished with the same high quality conversion varnishes.
Cabinet doors can be built from any species of hardwood and door styles are almost limitless. Ornamental applications like moldings, flutings, columns, carvings and other appliqués make a job particularly unique. Custom range hoods, built in appliances, and appliance panels are all given very special consideration in the design process. We can do custom stain matches, faux finishes; distressing and antiquing. We can match any sample and even match a photograph you may have.
Catalized conversion varnish is the finish most used by premium cabinet makers. This finish is absolutely the best finish available to use on any type of cabinetry. Conversion varnish has superior resistance to scratching, marring, staining and even burning. There is no finer finish to protect your investment. We uses only the highest quality conversion varnishes on all of their products.
Tailored for you
Our custom cabinetry is tailored to meet the style and needs of you, the customer. The design and layout of your cabinetry will be unique, personal and built per your specification. Whether choosing color, doors, materials, finish or depth or height of the cabinet, it can be adjusted to your needs to provide maximum storage, utility of the area and great looks. You will find great satisfaction using cabinets that have been exclusively and solely designed for you.
Ready to Go.....
We begin a project by meeting with our customer and their architect and/or designer commissioned to the project. Together we make a comprehensive list of features that are important to you. Interestingly enough, it's equally important to know what you didn't like about your old kitchen. Our customers have the opportunity to review a carefully itemized proposal. All of your expectations are discussed so there are no surprises. All shop drawings are created using Cabinet Vision Solid software. We provide dimensioned floor plans, elevations and 3D images of the project before we begin. This allows our customer to see clearly how their cabinet layout and design is going to look prior to final approval. Only then do we go into production. We look forward to building the quality cabinetry for your home. Contact us for an in-home consultation and free estimate.
